The joy of losing...

...a tooth.  This past weekend on Saturday morning Myles bit into his english muffin at breakfast and left behind his front tooth.  Most of you know that his first front tooth was lost (or eatten) at the Museum of Natural history this past fall when we were visiting with Aunt Barbara in NYC.  We never found his tooth that fell out during our lunch at the museum but he insists he did not swallow it.  So, we had a very close call this past Saturday as he looked at his muffin and said, "there is blood on my muffin". I looked up and saw his mouth was bleeding and a closer look at his breakfast revealed his front tooth resting right on top of this muffin!  This was so exciting.  Molly quickly hid under her chair and became very quiet as she is dying to catch up with him on the tooth losing front. He is now ahead by two teeth!  (She was happy for him but quite envious hence the hiding to gather her thoughts.)  He has lost all four front teeth (front and bottom) and she has only lost her bottom two.

Anyway, Myles decided NOT to put the tooth under his pillow that night as he wanted to show it to Shawn who was in NY and expected back the next day.  I tucked them in as usual and went downstairs to watch some television.  I must have fallen asleep on the couch as I was woken up around 11pm by Myles just standing there in front of me saying, "mom, mom I changed my mind, I can't wait until tomorrow, I need the tooth fairy to come tonight".  So, we brought the tooth up and I tucked him in and kissed him good night and went to bed.  The morning brought happiness as he cheered that the tooth fairy came and brought him a dollar- THANK GOODNESS she remembered!!!!
