Germs Germs Go Away

What a week we have had at our house.  Sunday night after Shawn and I put the kids to bed we were down on the couch relaxing at 10pm together when we heard Huddy calling for us. Shawn went upstairs to see what was the matter and did not come right back down. I thought something might be wrong, and wouldn't you know it, it was.  Hudson had broken out in hives and the itchyness woke him up.  We have dealth with many things in our house from wheezing to rashes and from a broken leg to a broken arm but not hives!  Poor little guy was a swollen red mess from the waist down.  He did have a few on his arms but they were mostly on his legs and bum.  It was scary.  We called the doctor who told us to immediately give him Benadryl, which we did, and then I slept with him the rest of the night to make sure they did not spread to his mouth area.  Not only did they not spread but he woke up in the morning with only two little welts on his cheek and a just a trace of hives on one on his legs!!!  I could not believe it!  I brought him to the doctor that day and it turns out their is a nastly virus going around that causes a break out of hives~ who knew?

So, Huddy was home Monday with me (mom and Huddy day).  Tuesday Huddy seemed good to go, despite his cough, so Shawn and I planned to send all the kids to school and actually both work.  I was on the way to daycare with him when he vomited in the car!  I truly think this was due to coughing but needless to say we could not send him to school covered in vomit and coughing like crazy.  So, Shawn met me at the daycare and took Huddy home.  Tuesday Huddy was with Shawn.  Wednesday is Huddy's regular day with Grandma so this allowed him to relax another day and recover.

So Thursday one would think perhaps we could have all the kids in school and we could once again maybe both work (since we both do have full time jobs), right.....WRONG!!  At 4pm when I arrived home from work on Wednesday I arrived home to a Myles with a fever of 101 and a sore throat.  It does not end there.  Molly came screaming into our room at 11pm complaining of ear pain.  It was so so sad, she would not stop crying. This girl is one tough cookie, did not shed a tear when she was revoering from getting her tonsils out, not one tear when she broke her elbow in June of 2009 but sobbing in our bed over ear pain and just so uncomfortable. I knew it must be bad.  Finally we got her to calm down after giving her Ibruprofen and Tylenol and we all went back to sleep.  So I headed to the doctor for the second time this week (first was with Huddy on Monday) but this time with Mollly and Myles and Huddy in tow.  Apparenlty, Myles has the same virus Huds had and Molly did as well but it caused and ear infection with her and that resulted in a ruptured ear drum.  This explains the midnight sobs!!  My poor children.

I am happy to report it is Friday and all three kids are feeling much better and are at at school today.  I am looking forward to getting some rest this weekend and hanging out with Shawn and the kids and simply taking it easy and hopefully starting next week on a good foot!
