Ouch!

We just got back from the playground at the bay where Hudson got stung by a jelly fish. He was so brave and only cried for a minute. He was not keen on having someone pee on him so instead the Lifeguard helped us out by spraying some numbing spray on his boo boo. All I could think of was the "Friends" episode where Ross peed on Rachel! now we are back at the house watching Shark Week. I am pretty sure none of the kids will ever go in the ocean again!

Hudson bounced back quickly and the three kids had a ball on the playground again. The ice cream truck came and I had no cash so I was told I am not allowed out of the house without money for the rest of the trip.

This was taken right before the jelly fish attack.

Love this girl!

Happy 4th Birthday Hudson

It hardly seems possible that our baby has had yet another birthday.  Yes, Hudson turned 4 years old on the 26th of July. I am having a hard time grasping that our baby is 4!  We had a fantastic evening together at the Circus Smirkus (http://www.smirkus.org/) and then came home to have cake and open gifts.  Grandma, Grandpa, Peyton, Hailey and good friend Luke joined us to celebrate.  Shawn and I both worked on his special day and he stayed with the sitter.  That night I vowed never to work again on one of the kid's birthdays unless they are home with Grandma.  I know he had a good day and all but what the heck was I thinking not taking the day off!  They are growing up too fast and before I know it they will want to spend their birthdays with their friends. I need to capitalize on spending these special days with them while I still can!!

Every kid loves presents!

In the Middle of Summer and Loving It

Summer is here and we are enjoying the warm weather but also loving our central A/C that Shawn had installed in midwinter at a bargain price!  Yes, for all of those that are looking into Central Air due to this global warming I recommend calling Home Depot the first week of December as they can get you right in and will give you a good deal!

Okay, so we have our daily summer routine down.  It goes something like this:

Monday- Ms. Brianne watches the kids and typically attempts to bring them somewhere fun.  Lately, however, the kids just want to stay home as Shawn and I run them ragged on the weekends.  On Monday nights Shawn brings the kids to the Narragansett Track Club and the kids get to run all sorts of races in a completely organized setting and against kids their own age.  The results are even posted on Cool Running!  They come home weekly with ribbons and this past Monday they came home with a medal!  Tuesday morning all three kids came into our room in their PJ's wearing their medals around their necks with great pride.  It was precious!

Tuesday- Ms. Brianne watches the kids again but this time Myles has summer school from 9-11am so a field trip in the morning cannot really happen.  Instead, Molly and Hudson have lots of craft time with their babysitter!

Wednesday- Mr. Myles goes off to summer school. Grandma picks him up at 11am and she has been taking all 5 grandkids out to McDonald's for lunch!  This is a special treat for them.  They then chill at Gram's house all afternoon and just love being next door cozy with their cousins Peyton and Hailey.

Thursday is a Ms. Brianne day and summer school day again. (Only one more week of summer school left.)

Friday is a mostly Mommy day and I love it!  Shawn gets three Fridays with the kids this summer and I get the other six.  We have had a blast together going to the beach and the local lake.

We had a fun time together with Grandma.

My boy and his shadow.

This is pretty much why my house is always trashed.  Notice how even at the beach they are into EVERYTHING!

Girl cousin time at the lake.

Boy cousin tme at the lake too!

Shawn's big 10 mile road race is coming up this Friday night.  He has some how talked me into walking it as he said we get free beer in the beer tent at the end.  I just realized it is not free beer as it cost me $33 to register.  This should be interesting to say the least!

Hudson turned 4 yesterday and I can't get over it.  Where did the four years go.  A post regarding his special day should appear tomorrow.

GSO 50th Anniversary

We went down to the Graduate School of Oceanography's campus on Saturday morning to celebrate their 50 years.  This included a boat tour of a NOAA ship and some time to view some sharks, starfish and other fun sea creatures. We were happy to have the Rosenblums meet us there!!!

Elliott Slept Over our House

Last Friday, June 24th Molly was delighted JUST DELIGHTED to have Elliott sleep over HER house.  Infact having a sleep over has now become an all time favorite for this party girl. Molly comes alive in the evening so dazzling up with nail polish and makeup and pretty dresses for these two was just natural on a Friday night (kind of scary).  We had a blast together getting pretty and the girls put on a performance from Camp Rock the musical for me and just smiled all night long!

Myles' Room Got a Makeover

Two weeks ago we decided that it was time for Myles to have a room makeover!  So, out with the little boy stuff and in with the cool big kid stuff!  We purchased a really cool desk with a shelf over it ($50 from Shawn's company) added some skateboard wallies ($20) and a cool Dr. Seuss quote ($11) and glow in the dark stars ($10) topped it off with his own artwork framed and a under the desk bulletin board to continue the decorating and for less than $100 bucks he has a new room!  He loves it and so do the other kids (and Shawn and I).  You can see Molly and Elliott have found a comfy spot on his bean bag chair!
