Santa Brought Presents and a Blizzard

Pictures are worth a thousand words, here are a few more to add:

We had such a fun Christmas this year.

Happiness is having siblings to love.

Joy is having our cousin Annika join us for the holidays.

Fun is playing in the newly fallen snow from the Blizzard of 2010

Coziness is our house we call home.

Chaos is jamming all the Johnson cousins on Grandma's couch

Warmth is sneaking in a hug.

Accomplishment is completing some shoveling.

Contentment is having Grandpa offer to take Hudson inside to warm up.

Like Father Like Son

My mother came over just the other night and we began talking details of the upcoming holiday weekend. Molly and Myles quietly disappeared and then suddenly there was cheering and laughter and this is what we discovered.

Now I must say that something tells me the seed that sparked this idea is from the Juenger side as Shawn used to "stair dive" in Colorado in his early twenties with several room-mates. Now all this time we have worried about Myles and how he is quite immature for his age I now wonder if he really is? After all, it took Shawn twenty years to come up with this bright idea but Myles came up with this at 6!
Go Myles!

My Parents Make Me Laugh

Last night I had to run over to my parents house to drop something off and there in the middle of the living room is wrapping paper from a gift that was clearly unwrapped.  My dad comes dashing over and my mom comes running down the stairs and they announce, "go in our room and look around".  So, in their room I go and what do I see? I see the bedspread set that Shawn and I  bought them for Christmas set up on their bed!! Now keep in mind I brought this gift over and placed it under the tree just 2 days prior with the intent of it being open on Christmas, after all it is a Christmas gift.  I could only laugh because for two days now I have been telling my  three little ones that "no you can not open the gifts under the tree" and "yes you have to wait until Christmas" and "if I have to tell you one more time that you CAN NOT open these gifts until Christmas then I will have to put them away for now" and here are my parents so proud of their bedspread with no shame that they opened their gift with 4 days to go!!  Needless to say the children will not be told about this.

It gets a bit better though. I just called my mom to check in on the day as she is home today being Wednesday and all.  She says, "I can't talk long dad does not like the Christmas Card I made so I need to get dressed up and put make-up on and go outside and take a picture for a new Christmas Card".  I LOVE THEM!!  Apparently, the tri-pod is all set up and they are ready to go with this picture.  Nothing like waiting until Shawn and I are at work and it is the 11th hour to take this photo.  Do they forget that we are there to help them with anything they need?  So out in the cold winter weather they will go with tri-pod waiting to take what will be this years Christmas Card. I can not wait to see this!!

This is all new to me......

but my sister-in-law Christa has asked me to do this for several months now and I think it is finally time.  I feel as though I can take a glimpse into the world of the Ohio Juengers and the Las Vegas Juengers (Bennettes) so easily yet they are pretty shut out of my world.  So, enough excuses for me as I pursue this new venture.  I have had the desire to do this for several months and I have to admit that I was pretty envious of both my sister-in-laws whom do such a good job with their Blogs.  I had no clue how to begin this process and when I would find the time to do so, but I am going to make a point at posting once a week in 2011 to update our far away family on our lives.

So here is to you Christa for your encouragement!  Cheers and Happy Holidays. Here goes nothing.
